The scientists conducted a spectral analysis of the redshifts of the two galaxies. We wrote about Meisies. Now let’s talk about CEERS-93316. Here’s What We Know For starters, spectral analysis has determined that Meisies formed not 286 million years ago, but 390 million years after the Big Bang. But CEERS-93316 is even younger, although it was previously thought to be the oldest galaxy compared to our planet. CEERS-93316 was discovered with the James Webb Space Observatory last summer. Initially, the magnitude of the redshift (the displacement of light during the accelerating expansion of the Universe) was estimated to be z16.4. Spectral analysis determined the redshift to be z4.9. This means that CEERS-93316 was actually observed not 250 million years after the Big Bang, but 1.2 billion years later. With the expansion of the Universe, the galaxy is 25 billion light-years from Earth, not 32 billion. Therefore, the title of the galaxy farthest from us belongs to JADES-GS-z13. It is believed to have existed 325 million years after the Big Bang. The galaxy was discovered with the James Webb Telescope last fall.
